Question.

Is NACO fit for purpose ?

NACO has been running since 1996 but has it moved with the times as an organisation representing owners of static caravan , or is its main purpose selling insurance?

I ask this question as throughout the pandemic there appears to have been a deafening silence from the association promoted as representing owners interests. I've been through their advice pages and it is littered with historical references to OFT 734 and the Office of Fair Trading.

That Office was closed in 2014 and the OFT guidance was withdrawn in 2017 as a result of new the Legislation and Regulation, that it did not take account of.

So why therefore have they still got contact details to an office that no longer exists and references to guidance that is out dated and detrimental to consumers?

Surely you would have expected such an association to have crawled all over the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Unfair Practices Regulations 2008 which were significantly amended in 2014 to give consumers a direct route to redress against the very companies their paid up members are having such issues with.
